Credit Repair can mean many different things.  Sometimes it is just paying your bills on time so that your credit report shows that you are making payments on time and not late.  Sometimes it means that you need to get a copy of your credit report and analysis it to find out if you have any bad credit that has been reported.  Credit repair is very important if you feel that some bad credit has been applied to your credit report and it is not yours.

If you find that you have some bad credit and you do not believe it is correct, the credit reporting agencies have forms that you can use to file a protest with them and they will contact your creditor and double check the credit issue.  If you are correct and it is not yours, the credit reporting company will usually remove the bad credit.

We are not a credit reporting company and we cannot fix or correct any bad credit that you many have found on your credit report.  This can only be done with the major credit reporting agencies.  You do have the right to obtain for free, your credit report on an annual basis from the major credit reporting companies.

Credit repair is cleaning up the your financial credit reputation. The process starts with the individual, and will continue as long as the individual puts the effort. Get a copy of your credit score, find a reputable credit repair company and start cleaning up your credit history. If you have a poor credit history, then you need a credit repair.

Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion are required to give you a credit report every 12 months. These companies websites gives you details on how to obtain your free credit report. They have a toll-free number and mailing address for you to order a credit report.

You have to contact these three companies separately for your credit report. Remember that if you want an extra copy of your credit report these companies can charge up to $10.50 after your free one.

After receiving your credit report, and you find a discrepancy, remember to dispute it. Write the consumer reporting company directly. In your writing be very specific and give supporting documents. State the facts on why you are disputing the discrepancy.

Give your full name, address and phone number for information to the reporting company. You must allow 30 days for consumer reporting company to do an investigation. The reporting company will in return write you a letter stating the result of the investigation. Remember not to make a fraudulent dispute because this is a crime.

Credit report information can affect your applications for a loan or insurance. Have all the supporting documents that will clean up your credit report. There are many companies that will help repair your credit.

There are many local credit counselors you can go to. Credit repair companies helps you develop a budget, manage your money, gives you materials for credit repair and debt management.

They give you a good understanding how on to keep your credit score up to standard. There are some non-profit credit repair companies. You can find them at Universities, Military Installations, Government buildings and local city offices.
